How do I access the internet using an eSiMAZE eSIM on an iOS device?

Last updated: 2026-09-03

Quick answer

Getting online is three settings on iOS: the eSIM line switched on, selected as your Cellular Data line, and set to whatever data roaming your package requires.

Steps

  1. Open Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data).
  2. Tap the eSiMAZE line and make sure Turn On This Line is enabled.
  3. Go back and tap Cellular Data, then select the eSiMAZE line.
  4. Open the eSiMAZE line again and set Data Roaming to what your package specifies. Most travel packages need it on.
  5. Leave your home line on for calls and texts if you want to stay reachable, but turn its own mobile data off.

What to check

  • Turn off Allow Mobile Data Switching, or the iPhone may quietly use your home line for data and generate roaming charges.
  • Only set an APN if your package supplies one. See how do I change my APN settings.
  • After changing settings, toggle Airplane Mode for around 30 seconds.

Important

Enabling data roaming on the eSiMAZE line does not expose you to your home operator's roaming charges. Those come from your own SIM, which is why its data should be switched off.
